Aydar 008 27°49’32.9"N, 10°31’04.1"W South, Morocco Find: 2017 Classification: Primitive achondrite (Lodranite) History: Found by Elhoussine Elguirah. Bought by Isabelle Pothier from Mohamed Elguirah. Physical characteristics: Dark brown irregular stone. Cut surface reveals a coarse grained crystallized rock. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Granoblastic rock with olivine, low-Ca pyroxene and Ca-pyroxene. Grain size 3 mm. Other minerals: metal, troilite, and their weathering products. Weathering is high. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa10.5±0.3, FeO/MnO 23.0±4.3 (n=5). Pyroxenes: orthopyroxene Fs9.7Wo1.2 (n=1), Ca-pyroxene Fs3.8Wo45.1 (n=2), FeO/MnO 11.4±1.7, Cr2O3 0.66±0.34 wt% (n=3). Classification: Primitive achondrite (lodranite). Lodranite based on texture, mineralogy, mineral chemistry and grain size. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE.
