Northwest Africa 13723 (NWA 13723) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK6) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Chondrite with large chondrules set in a recrystallized matrix dominated by ferroan olivine. Matrix plagioclase size to 100 µm. Opaque minerals are Cr-bearing magnetite and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine 31.7±0.2, NiO = 0.46±0.06 (n=3). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs32.2Wo0.6 (n=1). Ca-pyroxene Fs12.8Wo45.6 (n=1). Plagioclase An46.3Ab51.9Or1.8 (n=1). Magnetite Cr2O3 = 3.7 wt% (n=1). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK6) Specimens: Type speciment at CEREGE.
