Purchased: 2020 Oct

Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK3)

History: Purchased by Luc Labenne in October 2020 from a Moroccan dealer.

Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Separated, well-formed unequilibrated chondrules (some pleonaste-bearing, apparent diameter 1330±850 µm, N = 23) and very fine grained CAI are set in a fine grained matrix (~50 vol.%, red-brown in thin section) containing Cr-magnetite, relatively sodic plagioclase and minor secondary calcite.

Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa_23.9±12.5, range Fa_0.8-33.4, N = 6), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs_20.5±7.7Wo_0.9±0.3, range Fs_8.1-28.2Wo_0.4-1.2, N = 5), pigeonite (Fs_1.3Wo_9.1), augite (Fs_12.5±1.9Wo_47.6±1.1, range Fs_11.1-13.8Wo_48.4-46.8, N = 2), plagioclase (Ab_68.9An_28.0Or_3.0), magnetite (Cr₂O₃ = 3.2-3.9 wt.%, N = 3).

Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK3).

Specimens: 20.1 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Labenne.
