Macroscopic Description - Rachel Funk

The exterior of this meteorite is covered with dark brown fusion crust, some fractures and rust is visible. The interior is a dark matrix with metal and minor amounts of rust visible.

Thin Section Description (,2) - Cari Corrigan, Tim McCoy

Only vague traces of chondritic structure are visible in the thin section, which shows the meteorite to consist largely of prismatic or granular enstatite (grain size 0.1-0.2 mm), a considerable amount of nickel-iron, and minor amounts of sulfides and plagioclase. The meteorite is modestly weathered, with brown limonitic staining throughout the section. Microprobe analyses show that the enstatite is Fs_0-1; the Fe-Ni metal contains 1.0 wt. % Si. The meteorite is an EL6 chondrite.
