Find: 2021 Mar 5

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL6)

History: The meteorite was found on 5 March 2021 by Mr. Deniz Bugenc and his brother Mr. Hasan Bugenc during their field work near the villiage of Kanatli, Sanliurfa, Turkey. Their friend, Mr. Erdal Karakehya, recognized the rocks as meteorites and arranged the type specimen, which was sent to Dr. Mehmet Yesiltas at KirkU for classification. Main mass remains with the finders.

Physical characteristics: Both stones are largely fusion crusted. Interior is light-gray color and rusted. Very small amount of metal is visible

Petrography: Highly crystallized mineral composition with partially granulitic texture. Chondrules are visible but poorly defined. Mineralogy consists of olivine, pyroxene, chromite, feldspar, and FeNi metal.

Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa28.5-29.7), Pyroxene (Fs24.95-25.11Wo1.62), Sodic Plagioclase (An17.47±0.5, n=12).
