Writeup from MB 108:
Jdiriya 002 27°36.8356’N, 10°26.8614’W Saguia el Hamra, Western Sahara Find: 2019 Apr 23 Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite, monomict) History: Found by Zaid Oualguirah on April 23, 2019. Bought from Zaid Oualguirah by Jean Redelsperger in May 2019. Physical characteristics: A single crusted stone. Cut face reveals a light gray, brecciated interior. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Igneous rock with subophitic texture. Typical grain size 150 μm. Main minerals are exsolved pyroxene and plagioclase. Others minerals: chromite, silica polymorph, troilite. No metal was observed. Geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene Fs61.2±1.4Wo2.9±1.2, FeO/MnO=32.5±0.5 (n=4). Plagioclase An86.1Ab13.3Or0.5 (n=2). Classification: Achondrite (Eucrite-mmict) Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Jean Redelsperger. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
