Argan 003 40°10’06.17"N, 88°47’29.41"E Xinjiang, China Find: Nov 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~6) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Ziyao Wang from the finder Tailu Zhao (Shanshan County, Xinjiang) in Shanshan/Xinjiang in 2018. Discovered in Nov 2018. Physical characteristics: 78.1g black nearly round stone with fusion crust Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) olive-brown, recrystallized matrix, with melt veins, nearly completely recrystallized chondrules, and nearly completely oxidized metal and sulfide. Vugs are mostly filled with iron-hydroxides and sulfates. Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.21 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~6, W5) Specimens: 15.8 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 13 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
