Classification: Ureilite

History: A single meteorite was found during a search for meteorites.

Physical characteristics: Part of a broken individual, 13x11x6 cm, wind-ablated, fusion crust is partly preserved.

Petrography: (J. Pape, E. Gnos, B. Hofmann) The sample consist mainly of olivine and pigeonite and shows the characteristic ureilitic texture. Typcial grain size of silicates is 0.8-1.5 mm. Reduction rims around olivines are ~50 μm wide. Silicates have a grain size of 0.8-1.5 mm. Carbon platelets (up to 1 mm length) consist of dominant diamond. Silicates are weakly shocked (S2). Moderate weathering (most iron oxidized, silicates are unaffected).

Geochemistry: (J. Pape, NMBE) Olivine cores Fa_21.8±0.3, Fe/Mn 46±2, Cr₂O₃ 0.55±0.02 wt% (N = 19), reduced Ol rims have Fa>6.3. Pigeonite has Fs_18.3±0.1Wo_10.3±0.2, Cr₂O₃ 1.30±0.03 wt% (N = 21).

Classification: Based on texture, mineralogy and geochemistry this is an unbrecciated, monomict, ferroan ureilite.

Specimens: 2.75 g including one polished thin section at NMBE, main mass: MHTO
