Carbonaceous chondrite (CM2)

A black fragment (2.2 g) contains light grey chondrules and inclusions on the surface. Classification and Mineralogy (CAS): Chondrules and fragments are small (50 - 300 μm in diameter), and less abundant than the opaque matrix. Several Ca-Al-rich inclusions and amoeboid olivine aggregates were found. Phyllosilicates is common in the matrix. Olivine (Fa9.8±13) and low-Ca pyroxene (Fs2.0±3.4) are highly heterogeneous, showing compositional zoning on back-scattered electron images. Shock stage is S1; weathering grade is W1.
