Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3)

Apiece of 51 g was found. Classification and analysis, contains 33% matrix, 56% chondrules, 8.3% CAIs, olivines in chondrules Fai.9 ± 1.2, pyroxene in chondrules Fs3.4 ± 3.3, avg. chondrule diameter 1 mm, A. H. Treiman and J. M. DeHart, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas 77058, USA. Information and main mass, R. E. Farrell, Bethany Sciences, P. O. Box 3726, New Haven, Connecticut 06525, USA. See also Treiman and DeHart (1992). The Meteorite Nomenclature Committee decided to name this meteorite Nova 002 because of uncertainty in the discovery location.
