Northwest Africa 13335 (NWA 13335) Morocco Find: July 2019 Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite) Petrography: The stone is a brecciated rock with igneous clasts and a melt rock lithology (perhaps related to impact). Main minerals are pyroxenes and plagioclase. Accessory minerals include chromite, silica, and metal. Geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene is Fs59.8±1.5Wo2.3±1.7 (Fs49.9-61.4Wo1.3-14.5, N=69), and Ca-pyroxene is Fs26.8±2.9Wo41.8±3.8 (N=14),). The Fe/Mn ratio of the pyroxenes is 34.5 (n = 84). Plagioclase An80.8±6.3 (N=7). Classification: Eucrite (brecciated) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
