Physical Description: Roberta Score

Black fusion crust covers 50% of this meteorite. Several regmaglypts are present on one surface. The broken surfaces have weathered to a deep reddish-brown color. Chipping revealed an interior that is uniformly mottled with oxidation. Inclusions are obvious. Dimensions: 7 x 6 x 4 cm.

 

Petrographic Description: Brian Mason

Chondrules are fairly abundant but are poorly defined, tending to merge with the granular groundmass, which consists largely of olivine and pyroxene with minor amounts of nickel-iron and troilite. Limonite veinlets and brown limonitic staining are present throughout the section. Microprobe analyses give the following compositions: olivine, Fa19; orthopyroxene, Fs17. The meteorite is classified as an H5 chondrite.
