Meteorite Type: Acapulcoite
    MET01212 MET01232

Macroscopic Description: Kathleen McBride, Cecilia Satterwhite
Exteriors of these acapulcoites have black/brown fusion crust with oxidation haloes. The interior is rusty brown with dark gray to black patches. Some metal is visible.

Thin Section (,2) Description: Tim McCoy, Linda Welzenbach
The meteorites are so similar that a single description suffices. The sections consist of an equigranular aggregate with grains up to 0.5 mm. Minerals include olivine (Fa8-9,), orthopyroxene (Fs8,), chromian diopside (Fs3-4,Wo44-46,), phosphates, metal and troilite. Metal and sulfide occur as large grains, veinlets and metal-sulfide blebs within orthopyroxene. Weathering is moderate, with extensive staining. The meteorites are acapulcoites and are very likely paired with MET 01195/01198/01244.
