Northwest Africa 13675 (NWA 13675) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2020 Sep Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK5) History: Purchased by Shun-Chung Yang and Juan Chen in September 2020 from a dealer in Guelmim, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Sparse granular, Cr-magnetite-bearing chondrules are set in a recrystallized matrix containing Cr-magnetite and plagioclase. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa29.3±0.8, range Fa28.3-30.1, N = 4), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs25.2Wo2.0), pigeonite (Fs23.1Wo5.7; Fs24.2Wo14.1; N = 2), augite (Fs15.0Wo37.0), plagioclase (An27.5Or3.9), magnetite (Cr2O3 = 3.4-3.6 wt.%, N = 2). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK5). Specimens: 6.9 g in the form of a polished endcut at UWB; remainder with Mr. S.-C. Yang and Mr. J. Chen. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
