Northwest Africa 14806 (NWA 14806) (Northwest Africa) Find: 2021 Sep Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Chondrules with average chondrule apparent diameter 230±100 µm (n=38), and small CAIs set in a fine grained iron-rich matrixOpaque minerals are Fe,Ni metal and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa27.0±20.0, range Fa1.3-69.9, Fa PMD 60% (n=14). Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.28±0.12 (n=12). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs2.7±0.6Wo0.9±0.6 (n=5), Fs52.5Wo1.7 (n=1). Ca-pyroxene Fs1.9Wo44.7 (n=1). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3). Fa range and Cr2O3 content of ferroan olivine suggest a low petrographic subtype. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE.
