Northwest Africa 12842 (NWA 12842) Morocco Purchased: 2018 Feb Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4) Classification: Ten olivine grains were analyzed with compositions ranging from Fo72.0 to 76.2, a mean of Fo73.9 and a standard deviation of 1.2. Several large chondrules are present (up to ~7 mm), some retaining initial crystallization textures (barred olivine). However, chondrules have undergone some deformation, are mostly no longer spherical, and no glass is present in chondrule matrix. This sample is L4 chondrite. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
