Northwest Africa 13116 (NWA 13116) Mali Purchased: 2019 Aug Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6) History: Purchased by Mbark Arjdal in August 2019 from a dealer in Timbuktu, Mali. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS & J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Mostly recrystallized with rare chondrule remnants, stained metal, sodic plagioclase, troilite, chromite and chlorapatite. The specimen is crosscut by some thin veinlets of secondary goethite and calcite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.7±0.2 (range Fa19.2-19.9, N = 6), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs17.3±0.3Wo1.4±0.2 (range Fs16.9-17.5Wo1.2-1.6, N = 5), subcalcic augite (Fs13.7Wo20.3), augite (Fs6.2Wo45.0). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6). Specimens: 199 g including one polished thin section at UWB; main mass with Mr. M. Arjdal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
