Dhofar 1934 (Dho 1934) 18°50.147’N, 54°52.724’E Zufar, Oman Find: 2003 Mar 12 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Discovered on a desert expedition on March 12, 2003. Physical characteristics: One dark brown stone of 107.9 g. Magnetic susceptibility log χ = 5.04. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) various types of chondrules from 0.2 to 1.6 mm (avg. 0.6 mm) set in a fine-grained, transparent matrix. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine: Fa15.3 (Fa14.5-18.0, n=22); low-Ca pyroxene: Fs14.1Wo0.8 (Fs12.9-15.4Wo0.3-1.5, n=5). Kamacite Ni 5.3-7.7, Co 0.5-0.6 wt.% (n=5).
