Northwest Africa 7019 (NWA 7019) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2011 Feb Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L, melt rock) History: Purchased by Reed from a Moroccan dealer at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in February 2011. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Extremely fine grained quenched melt texture with larger irregular metal grains; no chondrules. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa23.5-24.0), orthopyroxene (Fs18.7-19.5Wo2.8-1.6), subcalcic augite (Fs15.5-15.8Wo28.5-25.1). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L-melt rock). Specimens: The main mass is held by Reed. A total of 26.6 g of material and one polished thin section are on deposit at PSF. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
