Jiddat al Harasis 1108 (JaH 1108) 19°37.511’N, 55°47.111’E Al Wusta, Oman Find: 2010 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL6, melt breccia) History: The meteorite was found 2010 during a field trip in the Oman desert. Physical characteristics: Dark-brownish individual with some fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite is a melt breccia composed of completely recrystallized LL6 regions (plagioclase grain size about 80 μm) and abundant up to 2 cm wide recrystallized shock melt veins and pockets with characteristic FeNi metal and sulfide spherules. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
