Northwest Africa 14163 (NWA 14163) Morocco Find: 2019 Classification: Enstatite chondrite (EL melt rock) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Highly recrystallized chondrite with grain size about 400 µm. Only relict chondrules are present. Enstatite is the dominant mineral, with subodinate sodic plagioclase. Accessory phases: troilite, daubreelite, schreibersite. Weathered metal is abundant. No pristine metal was found in the studied section. Geochemistry: Enstatite Fs0.5±0.3Wo1.5±0.1, CaO 0.84±0.06 (n=5). Plagioclase An15.0±0.2Ab80.9±0.1Or4.2±0.2 (n=4). All metal is weathered and cannot be analyzed. Classification: EL-melt rock, incompletely melted. Similar to and probably paired with Al Haggounia 001. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE.
