Northwest Africa 13732 (NWA 13732) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Dec Classification: Mesosiderite History: Purchased by Ziyao Wang in December 2019 from a dealer in Agadir, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Metamorphic-textured aggregate (mean grainsize ~1 mm) of predominantly orthopyroxene (containing blebs of augite), anorthite and metal (~30 vol.%, both kamacite and taenite) together with accessory silica polymorph and merrillite. Geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene (Fs31.8-34.6Wo3.0-3.8, FeO/MnO = 22-24, N = 4), augite (Fs13.3-13.1Wo43.9-44.2, FeO/MnO = 19, N = 3), plagioclase (An92.5-96.1Or0.2-0.1, N = 3). Classification: Mesosiderite. Specimens: 44 g including one polished endcut at UWB; remainder with Mr. Z. Wang. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
