Find: 2012 Aug 26

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4-6)

History: (Ziyao Wang) Discovered by the geologist Wang Jianming (Hami/Xinjiang) during field work in the Kumtag Desert on 26 Aug 2012.

Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) One dark black-brown stone 65 g. No fusion crust recognizable.

Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) breccia of three different lithologies: 1. gray-black matrix with well defined lighter chondrules (0.2-2.0 mm, av. 0.6 mm). 2. Gray-brown recrystallized matrix with chondrules (0.4-1.0 mm, av. 0.6 mm). 3. Black-gray matrix with many vugs (< 0.3 mm) and chondrules (0.4-2.0 mm) of same color. Metal and sulfide inclusions in all three lithologies are irregular.

Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa24.5±0.8 (n=33); pyroxene Fs20.1±0.4 (n=4), Wo1.8±0.5; feldspar An11Or5 (n=7); chromite CRAL86, FFM76 (n=3); merrillite. Kamacite Ni=6.2, Co=1.0 wt.-% (n=2). Magnetic susceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 5.07

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4-6 breccia, S4, W1)

Specimens: 13.0 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 9 g with Bart.
