Classification: Ureilite

History: A single meteorite was found during a search for meteorites.

Physical characteristics: Part of a broken individual, wind-ablated, 16 cm maximum size.

Petrography: (J. Pape, E. Gnos, B. Hofmann) The sample consist mainly of olivine and pigeonite and shows the characteristic ureilitic texture. Typical grain size of silicates is 1-2.5 mm. Well developed reduction rims (width 100-150 μm). Carbon platelets up to 1.5 mm, diamond with minor microcrystalline graphite. Silicates are weakly shocked (S2). Moderate weathering (most iron oxidized, silicates are unaffected).

Geochemistry: (J. Pape, NMBE) Olivine cores Fa21.7±0.3, Fe/Mn 43±2, Cr2O3 0.78±0.03 wt% (N = 20), reduced Ol rims have Fa>3.8. Pigeonite has Fs18.8±0.1Wo5.4±0.1, Cr2O3 1.12±0.02 wt% (N = 17).

Classification: Based on texture, mineralogy and geochemistry this is an unbrecciated, monomict, ferroan ureilite. Paired with Dhofar 2115.

Specimens: 59.43 g including one polished thin section at NMBE, main mass: MHTO
