Los Vientos 459 (LoV 459) 24°39’53.4’’S, 069°55’58.2’’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 2017 Feb 20 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Matrix-poor chondrite with well-delineated chondrules. Opaque minerals are metal and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa20.5±3.5, range Fa17.3-26.8, Fa PMD 13%, Cr2O3 0.09±0.09 wt% (n=5). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs16.0±2.1Wo1.2±0.6, range Fs13.2-18.8 (n=6). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3). H group based on magnetic susceptiblity. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Andreas Koppelt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
