Find: 2003 Oct 25

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3)

History: This stone was recovered by Robert Verish along the eroded margin of a dry lake.

Physical characteristics: This 25.1 g chondritic stone is a dark-brown, weathered fragment with only one side that is a relict-exterior surface, and is lacking fusion-crust.

Petrography: (Daniel Sheikh, FSU) Composed of small to medium-sized chondrules (average ~0.35 mm) in a fine-grained matrix.

Geochemistry: Olivine, Fa 18.55±5.3 (Fa11.36-26.16, N=25); orthopyroxene, Fs12.75±3.8Wo1.75±0.3 (Fs7.24-17.81Wo1.23-2.62, N=25).

Classification: Ordinary Chondrite (H3.8) Estimated subtype H3.8 due to Fa s.d.=5.3 and Fs s.d.=3.8 from Huss et al. (2004).

Specimens: 7.82 grams at UCLA; main mass with Verish.
