Northwest Africa 14004 (NWA 14004) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2020 Jan Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3) History: Purchased in 2020 by Noreddine Azelmat from a meteorite dealer in Morocco. Physical characteristics: Single stone with visible fusion crust. Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) This sample contains chondrules (Av. 1.1 mm) and CAIs set in a fine-grained matrix with accessory magnetite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa16.3±15.7, range Fa1.2-45.1, n=33), Low-Ca Pyroxene (Fs1.0±0.1Wo0.9±0.1, range Fs0.9-1.1Wo0.8-1.1, n=5). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3). Specimens: 20.6 g and a thin section at Cascadia; main mass with Noreddine Azelmat. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
