Writeup from MB 110:
Aridal 018 25.54755°N, 13.32425°W Western Sahara Find: 2021 Apr 02 Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CVred3) History: Found by Modamed Ouaizza on April 2, 2021. Bought by Jean Redelsperger from Zaid Oulguirah in 2021. Physical characteristics: Dark stone without fusion crust. Cut face reveals large chondrules and CAIs set in a dark matrix. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Large chondrules (~800 µm) and CAIs set in abundant, fine-grained, metal-rich matrix. Opaque are magnetite, troilite, and FeNi metal Geochemistry: Sulfides are Ni-free (Ni content below the detection limit of EPMA). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrites (CVred3). CVox group based on the Ni content of sulfides Gattacceca et al., 2020. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Jean Redelsperger | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
