FALL OF THE STRATFORD, CONNECTICUT, STONY METEORITE Name: STRATFORD Place of fall: Stratford, Connecticut, U.S.A. 41°12'N, 73°08'W. Date of fall: May 27,1974, at 1600 Eastern Daylight Time. Class and type: Stone. Olivine-hypersthene chondrite (tentative classification L6). Number of individual specimens: 1 Total weight: 50 g Circumstances of fall: A small stone, described as being about the size of an English walnut, fell in a street, making a small dent about one inch deep in the asphalt.
