THE FALL OF THE CONQUISTA, BRAZIL, STONY METEORITE Name: CONQUISTA Place of find: Corrego do Lageado, Conquista, Minas Gerais, Brazil. 19°51'S., 47°33'W., approximately. Date of fall: December 1965, early in the month, at 0600 hrs. Class and type: Stone. Olivine-bronzite chondrite (H4). Olivine Fa17.2, low-Ca pyroxene Fs15.4, 25.83% total iron. Number of individual specimens: 1 + fragments Total weight: Not known, single specimen of 20.35 kg recovered. Circumstances of fall: The fall was accompanied by a loud noise and an impact pit 1.5 m in diameter was formed.
