Northwest Africa 12933 (NWA 12933) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: May 2017 Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite) Petrography: The meteorite belongs to a breccia with a doleritic texture.The dominant mineral of the meteorite is plagioclase and pyroxene (up to 2.2 mm). Accessory ilmenite and troilite can be observed. Exsolution of the high calcium pyroxene from the low calcium proxene can be also observed. Geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene Fs59.5±1.4, Wo3.5±1.1, n=7, FeO/MnO=34.4±3.2, n=8; High-Ca pyroxene Fs26.2±2.2, Wo45.0±2.2, n=7; Plagioclase An88.8±3.3, n=9 (EDAX). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
