Northwest Africa 13499 (NWA 13499) Algeria Purchased: 2020 Jan Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Igneous rock with subopthitic texture. Main minerals are pyroxene (exsolved) and plagioclase with typical grain size 600 µm. Other minerals: metal, troilite, chromite, ilmenite. Vesicles up to 200 µm are present. Geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene Fs42.9±0.9Wo3.7±0.9 (n=7), Ca-pyroxene Fs25.0Wo35.5 (n=2), Fs16.5Wo44.9 (n=2), FeO/MnO = 27.8±2.0 (n=11). Plagioclase An92.2±0.5Ab7.5±0.4Or0.4±0.0 (n=4).
