Northwest Africa 5274 (NWA 5274)

Purchased: 2006

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a local meteorite dealer in Erfoud, Morocco.

Physical characteristics: Brownish rock without fusion crust.

Petrography: Ordinary chondrite with small sharply defined, mostly rounded and separated chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 0.3 mm) in a dark fine-grained matrix contains sulfides and abundant FeNi metal partly altered to Fe-oxides and -hydroxides.
