DISCOVERY OF THE YAMATO 7301, ANTARCTICA, STONY METEORITE Name: YAMATO 7301 Place of find: Southern Yamato Mountains, Antarctica. 71°45'S., 35°00'E. Date of find: December 14, 1973. Class and type: Stone. Olivine-bronzite chondrite (H4). Olivine Fa20. Total iron = 25.13%. Number of individual specimens: 1, and eight very small fragments. Total weight: 650 g Circumstances of find: Found during the 1973-1974 season by the Japanese Antarctic Expedition on bare ice about 300 m from the margin of a moraine field, about 30 km south-west of the Yamato Mountains.
