Northwest Africa 776 Morocco Purchased 2000 Achondrite (howardite) A 49 g crusted stone was purchased in Morocco. Mineralogy and classification (T. Bunch and J. Wittke, NAU): a polymict breccia; contains large orthopyroxene fragments (Fs29Wo2) and clasts of eucrites, diogenites, gabbroic and glassy fragments; matrix divided into gray and very dark flow segregations; plagioclase, An87; shock stage, S3; weathering grade, W1. Specimens, 10.1 g and a thin section, NAU; main mass with buyer. | ||||||||||||||||
