Northwest Africa 3201 (NWA 3201)

Classification: Iron meteorite (IIAB)

Petrography: Coarsest octahedrite; total area examined is ~500 cm2. Schreibersite comprises ~8% of the area. No troilite was recognized. Meteorite shows halos around large schreibersite crystal implying reheating sufficient to cause diffusion of P into kamacite. No heat altered zone.

Geochemistry: Co (mg/g) 5.11, Ni (mg/g) 52.1, Ga (µg/g) 51.6, Ge (µg/g) 130, As (µg/g) 11.1, Ir (µg/g) 0.017, Au (µg/g) 1.09.
