Northwest Africa 12585 (NWA 12585) Morocco Purchased: 2018 Feb Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3) Physical characteristics: Crusted stone. Cut surface reveals dark interior with fresh metal. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Chondrite with packed well-delinetaed chondrules. Opaques are metal and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa22.2±4.1, PMD 16%, Cr2O3 0.05 (n=5). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs12.0±8.9Wo1.6±1.8. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3). LL group based on magnetic susceptibility. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
