Northwest Africa 13755 (NWA 13755) Mali Purchased: 2020 Jan Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3) History: Purchased by Mbark Arjdal in January 2020 from an dealer in Timbuktu, Mali. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Well-formed, closely-packed glass-bearing chondrules (apparent diameter 920±510 µm, N = 25) are set in a fine grained matrix containing stained kamacite, troilite, taenite and low-Ti chromite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa24.9±14.7, range Fa2.9-38.2, N = 7), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs18.5±3.3Wo3.0±2.5, range Fs13.8-22.4Wo0.4-6.1, N = 5), subcalcic augite (Fs17.9Wo20.4; Fs22.2Wo34.0; N = 2). Magnetic susceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 3.53. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3). Specimens: 24.4 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Mr. M.
