Northwest Africa 13932 (NWA 13932) Morocco Purchased: 2014 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3-6) Petrography: (J. Llorca, UPC) Examination of a thin section shows two distinct lithologies corresponding to petrologic types 3 and 6. PO, POP and RP chondrules are present in the type 3 lithology. Type 6 lithology has indistinct chondrules. Plagioclase, troilite, chromite and abundant taenite in both lithologies. Cl-rich apatite present only in type 6 lithology. Geochemistry: Type 3 lithology: olivine Fa25.5±2.3 (N=10), low-Ca pyroxene Fs22.2±0.9Wo2.2±0.2 (N=10). Type 6 lithology: olivine Fa33.3±0.5 (N=10), orthopyroxene Fs27.2±0.7Wo2.0±0.2 (N=10) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
