Northwest Africa 14211 (NWA 14211) Algeria Purchased: 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL4) History: Purchased by David Fletcher in 2019 from Mostapha in Algeria. Physical characteristics: Sample displays a slightly weathered fusion crust. Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) Specimen is an ordinary chondrite containing chondrules (up to ~1.1 mm) and accessory troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa29.6±0.9, range Fa28.7-33.2, n=21), Low-Ca Pyroxene (Fs23.9±0.4Wo1.7±0.2, range Fs23.1-24.3Wo1.4-1.9, n=10). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL4). Specimens: 21.3 g and a thin section at Cascadia; main mass with David Fletcher. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
