Writeup from MB 110:
Northeast Africa 032 (NEA 032) Libya Purchased: 2019 Apr Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL4) History: Purchased by Mbark Arjdal in April 2019 from a Libyan dealer. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Well-formed chondrules containing devitrified glass and rare fresh glass are set in a matrix containing troilite, stained kamacite, augite, chromite and chlorapatite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa29.4±0.7, range Fa28.7-30.6, N = 6), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs24.0±0.4Wo1.6±0.2, range Fs23.5-24.7Wo1.4-1.9, N = 5), augite (Fs8.6±0.1Wo45.6±0.5, range Fs8.5-8.7Wo45.9-45.2, N = 2). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL4). Specimens: 38.5 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Mr. M. Arjdal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
