Toconao 007        22°58.994’S, 68°18.389’W

Antofagasta, Chile

Find: 26 Oct 2019

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL6)

History: The meteorite (1 piece) was found in autumn 2019 by Atali Agakhanov during a meteorite searching expedition organized by Timur Kryachko.

Physical characteristics:  Total mass is about 134 g. The interior of meteorite are dark grey with brown shade and surface are dark brown.

Petrography: (K.A. Konovalova, FMMR). Petrographic observation of a polished section shows that meteorite consist of coarse grain matrix. The mineral matrix are olivine, low-Ca pyroxene, high-Ca pyroxene and large crystals of plagioclase (size up to 250 µm). This feauteres indicate about a petrological type 6. Olivine has undulatory extinction (shock stage S2).
