Dhofar 2100 (Dho 2100) 18°31.06’N, 54°22.76’E Zufar, Oman Find: 2014 March 03 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~5) History: Discovered about 35 km ESE of Mughshin on March 3, 2014 Physical characteristics: Many dark brown fragments totaling 619 g Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) brown recrystallized matrix with recognizable chondrules (0.3-1.3, av. 0.7 mm), and completely oxidized metal and sulfide. Vugs and cracks are filled with Fe-hydroxides and carbonates. Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.65 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~5, W5) Specimens: 25.1 g on deposit at Kiel, 58 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
