Keriya 001        37°59’24.87, 81°22’37.22

Xinjiang, China

Find: 2021 Mar 20

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~6)

History: (Ziyao Wang) On 2021 Mar 20 Aikeranmu and Aili discovered many small meteorites in the desert about 40 km north of Tigelakake, Hotan county, Xinjiang Province. They sold the meteorites to Jinji Li.

Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Many dark-brown stones; all of them are individuals with weathered fusion crust. Their weights range from 0.5 to 20 g, in total 5.2 kg

Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) Gray recrystallized matrix with indistinct chondrules and irregular metal.

Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.69

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~6, W3)

Specimens: 22.0 g on deposit at Kiel, Jinji Li holds the main mass, and 114 g with Bart.
