Marsa Matruh, Egypt

Find: 2021

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6)

History: The meteorite was found by Mr. Amr Khaled in 2020 and 2021 during several field trips to the northwestern Egyptian desert.

Physical characteristics: Many dark brownish fragments mostly devoid of fusion crust.

Petrography: Chondritic meteorite dominated by recrystallized matrix with few poorly defined chondrules. The plagioclase grain size is about 70 µm. Contains shock melt veins and pockets.
