Northwest Africa 4852 (NWA 4852) Morocco Purchased: 2002 Classification: Ureilite Petrography: Mode is dominated by subequal proportions of olivine and pigeonite. Texture is weakly poikilitic, with pigeonite oikocrysts showing optical continuity to 5 mm. Anhedral-equant olivines to 2.5 mm, with rims containing abundant submicrometer-sized metal. Geochemistry: Olivine cores are Fa12.6; rims to at least Fa3. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
