Roosevelt County 071-074

New Mexico, USA

Found 1989-1990

Stones. Ordinary chondrites

Four heavily weathered stones were found by I. E. Wilson on deflation surfaces in Roosevelt County. Information, classification and analysis, Tim J. McCoy, Planetary Geosciences Division, University of Hawaii, Honolulu , Hawaii 96822, USA, where also the thin sections UH-1, 2, 37, 70, used for classification are deposited. Main masses are in the possession of the finder. RC 071 and 072 do not seem to be paired with other RC meteorites, based on petrographic criteria and proximity of find site. No attempt was made to find possible pairings of RC 073 and 074 with other RC meteorites.
