Northwest Africa 13889 (NWA 13889) Morocco Purchased: 2019 Classification: Pallasite History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Weijiang from a Moroccan dealer at the China Mineral & Gem Show in Beijing City in Nov. 2019 Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) A 21.5 g iron with many yellow-green crystals on the surface Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) 3-8 mm rounded fractured olivine grains and intergranular sulfide/phosphide set in fresh metal matrix Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa12.2±0.1 (n=7). Metal Ni 7.0±0.1, Co 0.8 wt% (n=7); troilite and rare nickelphosphide (Ni1.7Fe1.3)P. Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 5.55. Classification: Pallasite Specimens: 4.3 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 5 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
