Paposo 059 24°56.894’S, 070°00.578’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 2017 Feb 19 Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3) Physical characteristics: Sawn surface shows a dark interior with many small chondrules. Stone low weathered. Petrography: Abundant chondrules (predominantly of type I) and small CAIs set in a fine-grained matrix. The average chondrule apparent size is 180±60 µm (N=50). Geochemistry: Olivine in the range Fa4.0-43.1 (mean Fa22.9±18.1, N=34). Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.2±0.1 wt.% (N=12). Orthopyroxene in the range Fs1.7-23.6 (mean Fs12.1±9.2, Wo1.9±1.3, N=14). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
