Find: 09 Feb 2017

Classification: Relict meteorite (Relict iron)

History: Found during a search for meteorites.

Physical characteristics: Dark-brown sand-encrusted fragment, strongly magnetic.

Petrography: Black iron oxides with dominant oxide-cemented dune sand.

Geochemistry: Bulk analysis (XRF) Fe = 24.6±0.5, Ni = 0.94±0.28, Co = 0.12±0.03 (all wt%, N = 3).

Classification: Relict iron meteorite. Element concentrations affected by terrestrial weathering and dilution by adhering dune sand. Probably paired with Ramlat Fasad 580/581

Specimens: 1.2 g at NMBE. Main mass: MHTO.
